Sri Lanka Won the Match against West Indies and Moved into World Twenty20 Final

Sri Lanka won the match against West Indies by 27 runs and reached into the World Twenty20 final via Duckworth Lewis method when a thunderstorm stopped the play.

Sri Lanka set a target of about 161runs in the semi final match and West Indies were around 80/4 in 13.5 overs and they needed 108 runs to win and due to the thunderstorm the match has been halted, wet outfield prevented any further action in the semi final.


In 2012 near Colombo Sri Lanka lost the final match against West Indies and the Twenty20 tournament 2014 was a sweet revenge for Sri Lanka. In the final Sri Lanka will be fighting against the winner of the second semi final team between India and South Africa.

The second semi final match against India and South Africa is going to take place on Friday in Dhaka ( Today at 6:30 PM). The winner of the semi final team will be playing the final match against Sri Lanka on Sunday in Dhaka.

The match against Sri Lanka and West Indies took place in Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, mean while Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 160/6 where Lahiru Thirimanne (44), Angelo Mathews (40) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (39) contributed their best to set the high scoring.
