Chandrababu
Naidu government has decided to build a new capital of Andhra Pradesh around
Vijayawada. On Monday the Andhra Pradesh cabinet after five hours of
discussions came to a conclusion to build the new capital of AP around
Vijayawada city.
Sivaramakrishnan
Committee on the capital have been rejected and Chandrababu told ministers that
on Tuesday he will make a formal announcement in assembly and after that the
government will convey the same to the Centre.
Chandrababu
is planning to develop three mega cities and other small cities around the
capital. There is little bit confusion among the members of the cabinet as they
don’t have exact idea where the capital is located at. Some says the capital is
in Vijayawada, some say the capital will be located between Vijayawada and
Guntur as announced by Mr Naidu before and few others say it's Nuzivid.
The
Andhra Pradesh cabinet planned out a sub-committee as Vijayawada has
"insufficient" government lands and cabinet is in a plan to buy the
land from farmers and landowner in the ratio 60:40.
The
sub-committee includes Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Municipal
Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana, Labour &
Employment Minister Atchannaidu, Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma and
Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao. Deputy CM K.E. Krishna Murthy
apparently expressed his unwillingness to be part of the subcommittee.
